Zine cover (Proper)

This is my re-done Zine cover for my group’s publication, as I thought the previous one wasn’t really relevant to our theme “human and nature” and not greeny enough. I have also put too many things in my previous zine cover. Therefore this time I tried to keep everything simple and has made it so fresher and more sticking to the nature with putting a photo of a bunch of unblossomed flower as my cover photo.

Photographs of the person for Part B

This is the person I wanted to work on in my part B project. He is a staff who works at Extreme entertainment. The reason I wanna choose him to put in my publication is because he has given me a special expression before, I remember I accidentally trim my nail when I was play bowling with my friends, then I came to him and ask for an adhesive bandage, he was shocked and really worried when he saw my bloody nail xD, and he helped me to trim the remaining hanging part of the nail off then used the bandage to wrap my finger thoughtfully like a mum. He was legit the kindest and heartiest worker i have ever met in New Zealand. And this is why I choose him to work on in my own publication, as I wanted to know more about what he does in his job and the funny stories he has experienced with his customers like my case.

Zine mood board for my individual project

These are the possible publication layouts for part B in my project, which is quite relevant to the layout possibilities for part A in my project. They both looked simple and modern. With only choosing one color tone combining black and white annotation and put one to two images in each page, applying geometric shapes in the background to highlight the color tone of the publication.

Zine cover mood board for group

This is the group publication mood board I’ve made, I did these publication design research according to our group focus: nature and environmental. Therefore we possibly will make our publication in green tone and take photos for our publication surrounding the nature background at AUT south campus. Moreover, the layout for our group’s publication is going to be simply, because we want the readers understand the content of the publication easily.

Community narrative- AUT interview presentation

At this interview experience, we have interviewed 3 people who are currently working at AUT south campus, three of us in our group took turns to interview each of them respectively. It was a fun experience where we could jump out of us comfort zone to talk to people we are not familiar with and understand more of what their identities are relatable with the community, and their purpose and reason of working/ studying at AUT. Our group has discovered few possible themes/ focus we can be developing on for our publication, and eventually we have chosen to work on “nature and environmental”, which is making our publication surrounding the green nature photos of AUT south campus.

Introduce myself

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
