Usability test with my users

After I have finished my agile prototype, I moved on to the stage to do usability tests with my users. I have sat up 2 cameras to record the whole section as I would like to record the facial expressions of myself and my users as well as the process when I showed my prototype to my users. For my usability test, I will invite three users from different nations or gender to test my prototypes and get as many feedbacks from them, it is a good chance to get direct and positive feedbacks by using this method because I can know what to improve and what my users exactly want in person.

The first person I invited to do my usability test was my lecturer Nivia, I choose her because she is from Brazil and she could give me feedbacks on my design as a graphic designer. By interviewing her, I found out that there are few things that my prototype needed to improve, such as the functions in detail for the calendar, the display of the numbers on the calendars, and also the functions of the music/ soundtrack page could be more…etc. It was a good experience and development for helping myself to get to know how I can design a good and professional app for people around the world.

The second and the third person I did the usability test with are my classmates Cherise and Livy. I choose them because they have both seen My neighbour Totoro as well as they are aged around 20-21 years old, which is in the most common answered age group in my survey. Surprisingly they both gave similar feedback to me that they were looking forward to see the coloured prototype, more functions in detail as well as creating an alarm for reminders of any important dates or festivals.
